Can we change the subject?

“The battle is over - the Peakists have won.”
- James Schlesinger, former US Energy Secretary and ex-CIA director

As far as I can tell, he’s just about right. Agency after agency, think tank after think tank, organization after organization - everybody’s acknowledging the problem of peak oil. Even mainstream media outlets are starting to sound alarms. It seems that for every 100 people or organizations that seriously look into peak oil, 99 of them come back and say, “Yes, it’s a real and imminent problem.”

I’m tired of peak oil discussions that revolve around graphs and charts and models and reports, subtleties and nuances and claims and counterclaims, quotes and prices and projections.

Enough chatter. I’m convinced.

Now, can we talk more about what each of us can do in our own lives? I want to explore low-tech solutions. I want experiments. I want to know what works and what doesn’t. Let’s see where this can lead.

If you’ve got an idea or a suggestion, leave a comment, or send an email to e4@peakoilready.com.
