Two Hundred Things You Can Do to Get Ready for Peak Oil

Soon I will be starting a new series of posts focusing on simple, everyday things you can do prepare for peak oil. I mean, that’s the whole point of this site, right?
Sharon Astyk originally compiled a long list of ideas, which was published on Energy Bulletin here. She followed up with another two part list at Groovy Green here and here.
With Sharon’s permission, I’ll be recycling both lists. I’m paradoxically bringing them all together and splitting them up. The ideas will be grouped into separate posts based on her original categories. My hope is by breaking the lists into smaller, bite-sized pieces, and spreading them out a bit, each idea can be considered more carefully, retained more readily, and found more easily.
I think Sharon’s done such a great job with these lists, because even as she plans for the very worst outcomes, her lists are brimming with hope. And there’s guaranteed to be quite a few things that any given person or family can do.
So if you’ve seen these before, they’re worth looking at again. If you haven’t, get your notepad ready because there’s sure to be something on here you’ll want to consider.
